Besford House, Shrewsbury – Renovation, Contracting Project

Complete Renovation of a former, derelict, social services building to a contemporary six bedroomed family home. Completed April 2016 for a private client.

Complete refurbishment of a derelict building to a luxurious family home with style and character.

The development when acquired was a complete wreck and a shell of its former glory. Built in 1846, the building had been a children’s home for many years.

Originally, the former house stood on the site and the rest was a car park. When planning permission was requested, local residents were not too keen to part with the car park as there is very limited parking in the area. However, by spending time with and in the community to explain the plans as well as benefits to the residents, these concerns were easily overcome.

The result was a very impressive 5-bed family home with large living spaces with many original features, restoration stayed sympathetic to the original property throughout.
